A Lot like Love received mixed reviews. Review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gives the film a rating of 41%, based on 125 reviews, with an average rating of 4.95/10. The site's consensus states: "A tiresome rom-com."[4]
Manohla Dargis of The New York Times said the film "isn't half bad and every so often is pretty good, filled with real sentiment, worked-through performances and a story textured enough to sometimes feel a lot like life. If nothing else, A Lot Like Love is a pleasant reminder of a Hollywood time, seemingly long gone, when boy met girl in a midlevel romantic comedy without arty aspirations . . . or low-brow yucks."[5]

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times observed, "The movie is 95 minutes long, and neither character says a single memorable thing. You've heard of being too clever by half? Ollie and Emily are not clever enough by three-quarters . . . To call A Lot like Love dead in the water is an insult to water.".[6] Ebert awarded the film one out four stars, and ultimately included it in his list of "Most Hated Films".
Christopher Orr of The New York Sun said, "What do you call a shameless imitation of a shameless imitation? A rip-off squared? An homage once removed? Whatever label you choose, it can be comfortably affixed to A Lot Like Love, an Ashton Kutcher-Amanda Peet vehicle that is a lot like When Harry Met Sally..., which was itself a lot like Annie Hall. Sadly, the resemblance does not extend to quality. Indeed, those with a scientific turn of mind may take the devolution from Annie to Harry to A Lot Like Love as yet another demonstration of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which says that in a closed system (an apt description of Hollywood if ever there was one) there is a tendency toward entropy - in this case, from acknowledged classic to memorable cable-television staple to dim, flabby dud . . . If one thing saves A Lot Like Love from disaster - and I'm not sure it does - it's an easy chemistry between the leads, though one that owes little to Mr. Kutcher's performance . . . Fortunately, Ms. Peet carries off the role of Emily with enough spark that even Mr. Kutcher gradually lights up . . . Since running away with The Whole Nine Yards five years ago, Ms. Peet has had altogether too little opportunity to showcase her sexy comic appeal. A Lot Like Love might have provided that opportunity, had it only featured something a little like a script."[8]
Peter Travers of Rolling Stone rated the film two out of four stars, calling it "a lot like a lot of other romantic comedies that make two lovers of friends (When Harry Met Sally, Serendipity) and a lot not like the two witty and wise Richard Linklater movies - Before Sunrise and Before Sunset - that span the relationship between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy for nearly a decade and leave you wanting more . . . About A Lot Like Love leaving you wanting a lot less, I am right."[9]
There's a good reason for that popularity: Linux Mint just works. It isn't "changing the desktop computer paradigm," or "innovating" in "groundbreaking" ways. The team behind Mint is just building a desktop operating system that looks and functions a lot like every other desktop operating system you've used, which is to say you'll be immediately comfortable and stop thinking about your desktop and start using it to do actual work.
Exploring the bevy of Linux distributions out there is a fun part of the hobby, but for your first installation, you will likely want something popular and beginner-friendly, so it's easy to get help when you need it. That's why I recommend starting with Linux Mint.

You don't need a lot to get started birding-just a good pair of binoculars, a desire to be outdoors, and a destination. Some people like to use a checklist/life list of common species they might find around their home so they can keep track of what they have observed. Check out some of these (most links below leave DEC website):
New York State has adopted the 'Lights Out Initiative' on agency buildings to reduce dangers to migratory birds. We encourage other property owners to join the effort. Lights Out is a simple concept-commercial and residential property owners and managers reduce night time light pollution by turning off or dimming non-essential lights. This reduces the likelihood of disorientation and impact by birds. Note that exterior security lighting is more bird friendly when directed downward rather than into the sky.

Another nifty feature of Google Maps is that you can create your own custom maps (called My Maps) which you'll see me use on all of my itineraries and guides including the top ramen shops in Tokyo and best places to eat in Tokyo. I love them because you can copy them from folks like me and then tweak it to your liking in terms of adding custom icons, colours, and layers. The only problem with this feature is that again, you need data to access it. Even if you have offline maps saved, it won't let you load it unless you have data.
The advantage of the Maps.me app is that once you download the areas of interest, you'll have access to the maps, points of interests that are built-in, and of course any custom pins/bookmarks that you create.
Traditionally, HyperDia was something you used on your desktop. It's got handy features like being able to filter out Nozomi and Mizuho trains in your search so you only see trains that your Japan Rail Pass can use. This is still the preferred way to use HyperDia but with everyone living off of their smartphones, they've also developed an app version.
If you have Android, it doesn't have the voice feature but it does everything else and even has additional features like providing walking times, car rental rates, and even suggest hotels in the area.
Similar to the other navigation apps on the list so far, it does routing for trains so you can filter out routes that aren't covered by the JR Pass, pick reserved seats, find out how much each option costs, and which takes the least amount of time. I also like that this one has capabilities to search by station to see what lines run through and their individual schedules.
So far we've been focusing on navigation and that's super important because the worst feeling is getting lost in a brand new country. The second thing that you'll encounter is the language barrier. While you might not have any experience in Japanese at all, there are apps like Google Translate that can help along the way.
This is an app that is a must-have for anyone that travels because you can download so many different languages for offline translation. Over the years it has also gotten better and better with new functionality.
I personally feel like the app is decent for restaurant research but you're going to be overwhelmed with the results. The main issue is that there's no real way to sort the restaurant listing by some sort of rating system. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to what you see so the challenge you'll have is figuring out what's the best. Still, it's helpful in a pinch if you feel like just picking something random around you.
I talk about this same topic when explaining how to apply to the Toyosu Fish Market tuna auction but essentially it works like this. Uber in Tokyo is more like a taxi-hailing app where the same taxis that you'd flag down on the street could be the same ones picking you up by Uber. Overall, Uber in most cases is going to be more expensive than regular cabs but where there's a twist in the story is during late night from 10PM to 5AM where there's usually a 20% surcharge. Uber doesn't add this in so if you're out late, Uber may be a good option.
Last tip I'll share is that you want to make sure you open each one before you leave because they may need to download an internal update or in the case of the map apps, do all the offline downloading ahead of time.
Ashley:They said very timely with the spooky season, we have going on. So we are going to today walk through kind of what you had said, the predictions you made, where things landed in the world of compliance. And then what we would also love is for you to make a couple new predictions for what we might be seeing come 2023.
Ashley:Yeah, absolutely. I think we talk a lot, like you said, a lot about the CFPB, but super important not just to focus on that and the state level, like is, do you think in the next year to come, the states are gonna get more autonomy in terms of, you know, enforcements and regulations?
Here's the scenario: I have satellite isp and the forced auto download of IOS 9.0, 9.0.1 and 9.0.2, on multiple ios devices, have utilized all my paid bandwidth for the entire month effectively putting me and my business offline unless I purchase more bandwidth.
It's an issue every single ios update but the rapidity of recent updates and owning multiple ios devices currently have magnified the impact punishingly. This has been complained about for years has never been addressed other than forum posts online suggesting non-solutions like "filling the device so full of data that no more fits", jail breaking my devices, or apple store staff suggesting "disabling wifi", which is akin to a car dealer suggesting one can save gas by not driving ones car after you buy it. 2ff7e9595c
